How much does a trip to Ibiza cost? A real 2026 budget
Your Ibiza budget depends mainly on the month and where you stay. Excluding flights, in 2026 allow about €110-160 per person per day on a tight budget, €220-330 mid-range and over €500 for luxury. August can cost double what June or September does.
Ibiza is expensive, but not equally expensive for everyone. The same week can cost €800 or €6,000 per person depending on when you come, where you sleep and how many nights you go out. Here are three sample budgets built from real 2026 prices, a table of what everything costs on the island and the expenses almost nobody factors in before they arrive: the tourist tax, a car in August or a drink in a club. If you also want to pop over to Formentera, see the Ibiza to Formentera ferry or the Formentera day trip plan.
All figures are rough guides and per person, dated October 2026. Official ones (bus, taxi, tourist tax) come from published fares; the rest from official statistics, dated local press or what those of us who live here pay.
Ibiza budget: three sample budgets for 4 and 7 days
For the sums we've assumed a couple or two friends sharing a room, in mid-season (June or September). In July and August, add 30% to 60%, almost all of it on accommodation and car hire. Flights and ferries aren't included, as they depend on where you're coming from.
| Per person per day | Budget | Mid-range | Luxury |
|---|---|---|---|
| Accommodation (shared room) | €50-80 (hostal, campsite bungalow or simple apartment) | €100-150 (3-4 star hotel or apartment) | €250-400 (5-star hotel or villa) |
| Food and drink | €30-40 (supermarket, set lunch, sandwiches) | €50-80 (lunch and dinner in normal restaurants) | €120-200 (dinners with a view, beach clubs) |
| Transport | €8-12 (bus) | €25-40 (hire car, shared) | €40-80 (car, taxis or driver) |
| Going out (average) | €20-30 | €40-60 | €100-150 or more |
| Total per day | €110-160 | €220-330 | €510-830 |
| 4 days | €450-650 | €900-1,300 | €2,000-3,300 |
| 7 days | €800-1,100 | €1,500-2,300 | €3,500-5,800 |
How to read the table:
- Budget means getting around by bus, eating the set lunch, a supermarket dinner some nights and going to a club once or twice. It's doable, but in August few cheap beds are left. All the tricks to hit that figure are in Ibiza on a budget: 30 ways to spend less.
- Mid-range is the most typical week: a decent hotel, a car for a few days, a couple of good dinners, one club night and a boat trip or beach club.
- Luxury is a five-star hotel, restaurants you have to book, a beach club almost every day and a private boat one day. There's no ceiling: a VIP table or a yacht changes any bill.

Two things worth knowing: bars and restaurants are required to offer you free tap water, and the menú del día almost never exists in the evening. To find places that don't charge seafront prices, see cheap eats in Ibiza, and in the app you can filter restaurants by price and area.
Accommodation by season: what changes the bill most
Accommodation is by far the biggest item. According to Ibestat's hotel profitability indicators, in August 2026 the average rate per occupied room in Ibiza and Formentera's hotels was about €286 a night. By category:
| Category | Average rate per room per night, August 2026 | August 2025 |
|---|---|---|
| All hotels | €285.7 | €266.2 |
| Three-star | €244.5 | €211.5 |
| Four-star | €253.3 | €251.4 |
| Five-star | €564.4 | €533.4 |
The odd thing about 2026 is that a three-star now costs almost the same as a four-star in high summer. So in August it's worth comparing categories before assuming the lower one is cheaper.
How prices move through the year, in general terms:
- July and August: the highest prices and least availability. Book months ahead.
- June and September: good weather, everything open and prices clearly below August.
- May and October: cheaper still; the clubs are opening or closing their season.
- November to April: the cheapest, but many hotels close and choice is limited.
Which area you choose matters almost as much as the month: Figueretes, San Antonio and some inland hostales tend to be the most affordable; Playa d'en Bossa, Ibiza Town's marina and the northern hotels the most expensive. We compare them area by area in where to stay in Ibiza.
Nightlife: how much a club night costs
The night is the other big item, and the one that spirals most if you don't plan it. A typical night at a big club in high season:
- Entry: €30-70 bought online in advance; more on the door. Openings, closings and headliners, €60 to €150 or more.
- Drinks: €18-26 per drink and €10-15 for a bottle of water.
- Getting home: €3-5.60 on the club bus by card, or a taxi at the night rate.
With dinner beforehand, entry and three or four drinks, a night easily reaches €150-200 per person. That's why in the budgets above going out is an "average": a club night isn't the same as a sunset by the sea, which costs nothing. The clubs, their dates and how to buy tickets are explained in Ibiza clubs guide.
Transport: bus, taxi or car
Getting around Ibiza can cost €10 a day or €100, depending on how you do it.
Bus. Since April 2026 the network is new, and paying by bank card is considerably cheaper than cash:
| Journey | By card or QR | In cash |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 9 km | €1.70 | €2.40 |
| 10 to 14 km | €1.85 | €2.60 |
| 15 to 18 km | €2.20 | €3.10 |
| Over 18 km | €2.60 | €3.60 |
| Airport | €3.50-4 | €4.90-5.60 |
| Beach routes | €1.90-3.35 | €2.65-4.70 |
| Club bus | €2-4 | €2.80-5.60 |
Since June 2026 there's also a personal T4 pass, €25 for 96 hours of unlimited travel, which pays for itself after about fifteen short journeys. Routes, timetables and what runs in winter are in Ibiza bus routes.
Taxi. The official 2026 fare is €4.35 to start and €1.32 per kilometre by day (€1.60 at night and on public holidays), with a €2.15 supplement at the port and airport. A short trip around Ibiza Town costs about €8-12. Everything you need to know is in taxis in Ibiza.
Car. This is what rises most in summer, because the island limits the number of vehicles from June to September. A small car can cost €20-40 a day in winter and €80-160 in August, plus fuel and parking. Sharing it changes everything: split four ways, it stops being a luxury. In the app you can look for or offer car sharing.
Tourist tax: the one you pay at the end
In the Balearics you pay the sustainable tourism tax for every night in tourist accommodation. In high season (May to October) it ranges from €1 to €4 per person per night depending on the category, plus 10% VAT; in winter, a quarter of that. Under-16s don't pay.
For a couple spending seven August nights in a four-star hotel it comes to about €46 in total. It won't ruin your trip, but it's worth counting, because it's often not included in the booking price and is paid at the accommodation. Full table and examples in the Ibiza tourist tax.
Tipping, cards and cash
Tipping. In Spain tips aren't compulsory and service isn't added to the bill. If you've been well looked after, the norm is to round up or leave around 5-10% in restaurants; at bars and cafés, small change. At beach clubs and upmarket restaurants with an international crowd you'll see some people leave more, but nobody can demand it.
Cards. Accepted almost everywhere, including on the bus, where it's also cheaper. Some taxis, market stalls and small bars prefer cash, so carry some.
Cash. €50-100 per person in your wallet is plenty for whatever can't go on a card. Watch out for cash machines in tourist areas: some charge high withdrawal fees or offer to convert to your home currency at a poor rate. Always choose to be charged in euros.
Common budgeting mistakes
- Using June prices and coming in August. Accommodation and car hire can double.
- Forgetting the tourist tax, the car deposit or the insurance excess. They're small, but they add up.
- Paying cash on the bus every time. Each journey costs up to €1.60 more.
- Not booking club tickets in advance. On the door and at the last minute you pay more.
- Staying far away to save money and then living in taxis. Without a car, a badly connected area works out expensive.
- Paying for sunbeds without asking. Private beach clubs may have a minimum spend per person.

Frequently asked questions
Is Ibiza expensive?
Yes, it's one of the most expensive destinations in Spain in summer, especially for accommodation, car hire and nightlife: in August 2026 the average hotel night was around €286 per room. Outside July and August, and away from the seafront, eating, getting around and sleeping cost considerably less.
How much money do I need for a week in Ibiza?
Excluding flights and prepaid accommodation, allow about €60-90 per person per day on a tight budget, €120-180 for a mid-range trip and over €250 if you go out often or eat at beach clubs. Use a card for almost everything and carry €50 to €100 in cash.
How much is a drink in an Ibiza club?
At the big clubs in the 2026 season, a mixed drink cost €18 to €26, a beer a bit less and a bottle of water €10 to €15. In San Antonio's venues and the pre-club bars, prices are considerably lower.
How much is a sunbed in Ibiza?
On Sant Josep's municipal concession beaches, the maximum price for 2026-2029 is €15 per sunbed and €15 per parasol per day. On other municipal beaches it's usually less. At private beach clubs, each venue sets its own price and many require a booking and a minimum spend.
Do you tip in Ibiza?
It isn't compulsory and isn't included in the bill. If the service was good, the norm is to round up or leave 5-10% in restaurants and some small change in bars and cafés. In upmarket venues with an international crowd some people leave more, but it's up to you.
When is the cheapest time to go to Ibiza?
The cheapest months with everything open are May, late September and October. From November to April prices drop much further, and the tourist tax falls to a quarter, but many hotels, restaurants and the clubs close. July and August, especially the week of 15 August, are the most expensive.
