Ibiza winter nightlife: where to party from November to April
Yes, there's Ibiza winter nightlife, but on a different scale. From November to April the big clubs close and the night moves to DJ bars, small venues, gigs and key dates such as New Year's Eve or Carnival. Ibiza Town is where most people go out. There's no disco bus: plan your way home in advance.
Every October, when the closings end, someone asks online (Reddit is full of these threads) whether Ibiza "dies" in winter. It doesn't die: it changes size. The 5,000-person nights and line-ups with ten international DJs disappear, and another kind of night appears, smaller and more local, where you can easily end up chatting to the DJ at the bar.
This guide explains what kinds of places stay open, where to go out in each area, which dates bring the big parties and, above all, how to get home, which in winter is the trickiest part. We don't give a list of venues with dates: winter openings change every year, sometimes every month. For what's on this week, use the app's party calendar.
Ibiza winter nightlife: what's still open
The club season runs roughly from late April to mid-October. In 2026 the big opening weekend was at the end of April and the last closings came around 12 October. Outside those dates, the big clubs in Playa d'en Bossa, Sant Rafel and San Antonio don't open every night, and most don't open at all. If you're coming in November or at the very end of October, check on our blog which clubs are still open in October.
What you will find in winter, by type of venue:
- Cocktail bars with DJs in Ibiza Town, especially in the Marina, around the port and the Vara de Rey area. They're the backbone of winter nights, busiest on Fridays and Saturdays.
- Small venues and clubs that open some weekends or run autumn and winter series. The most reliable example is Akasha, the venue at Las Dalias (Sant Carles): for winter 2026-2027 it has announced parties every Saturday and Sunday in November and December plus a New Year's Eve party, with January and February still to be confirmed (last winter it paused from early January to early February). In San Antonio, the odd venue on the bay opens for one-off nights. These change every year: always check first.
- Big clubs on one-off dates, above all New Year's Eve. Pacha, in Ibiza Town, has held a New Year's party since winter 2022-2023, and it's now a fixture.
- Restaurants with music that, instead of closing at midnight, carry on with a DJ or live act on Fridays and Saturdays.
- Open-air public parties: village fiestas, the New Year's Eve party on Vara de Rey and Carnival.
If you're after a summer-style club night, honesty saves disappointment: in winter you won't get one every week. If a good night of bars, music and island people will do, you'll find it.
Ibiza Town, San Antonio and Santa Eulalia at night in winter
| Area | What winter nights are like | When it's liveliest |
|---|---|---|
| Ibiza Town (Vila) | The liveliest: bars in the Marina and the port, terraces in the centre, the odd DJ venue and Pacha on special dates | Fridays and Saturdays, long weekends and the Christmas period |
| San Antonio | The West End and the bay are almost entirely shut; what's left is the town's own nightlife, with locals' bars and the odd venue on specific dates | Sant Antoni fiestas (January), Carnival and occasional weekends |
| Santa Eulalia | Quiet nights of long dinners, a drink and live music in a bar or two | Weekends and New Year's Eve (with parties at the Teatro España and in the Es Puig d'en Valls marquee in 2025) |
| Inland (Santa Gertrudis, Sant Carles, Sant Joan) | Village bars, restaurants with live music and events at Las Dalias | Saturdays, Halloween and the Christmas season |
| Playa d'en Bossa and Sant Rafel | Practically no nightlife: the clubs are closed | Only special announced dates |
Ibiza Town
If you're coming to go out in winter, stay here. You can walk between the Marina, the port and the centre; there are more bars open, more taxis, and the weekend night buses leave from here. The usual pattern is a late dinner, drinks around the port and finishing up somewhere with music. To get to know the town by day, see what to see in Ibiza Town.
San Antonio
In summer it's the party capital; in winter, a small town. Almost all the bars in the West End and on the bay close, and the night is left to the bars in the centre where the people who live there go. Around its patron saint's fiestas, about 17 January, there's an open-air dance and activities. We cover it in San Antonio.
Santa Eulalia
The choice for anyone who prefers a quiet night: a seafront promenade, restaurants open all year and a drink with live music. Not the place for late nights every night, but good for a decent Saturday.
Special dates: Halloween, Christmas, New Year's Eve and Carnival
The dates that bring winter's parties together are few, and it's worth having them in your calendar:
- Halloween (31 October): it comes a couple of weeks after the last closings and is the first big night of low season, with themed parties in bars, venues and at Las Dalias.
- December long weekend (6 and 8): Spain's first long weekend of winter, with more people from the mainland and more venues open.
- Christmas: Ibiza Town puts on a street programme with the Vara de Rey marquee, markets, live music and afternoon parties (tardeo). Christmas Eve is a family dinner night and many bars close early or don't open; the street atmosphere picks up again over the following days.
- New Year's Eve: winter's big night. In 2025 Ibiza Town council held a free party on the Vara de Rey promenade from 22:30 to 3:00, with the midnight chimes live, grapes and party favours; Santa Eulalia had parties at the Teatro España and in the Es Puig d'en Valls marquee, and Pacha held its ticketed New Year's party. All the detail is in Christmas and New Year's Eve in Ibiza.
- Winter patron saint fiestas: Sant Carles (4 November), Santa Gertrudis (16 November), Sant Antoni (17 January, with an open-air dance the night before), Santa Agnès (21 January), Santa Eulària (12 February) and Sant Josep (19 March). They're village fiestas, with ball pagès folk dancing and concerts. See the calendar in Ibiza village festivals.
- Carnival (February or early March, depending on the year): Ibiza Town's big parade winds along the central avenues to Vara de Rey, with troupes, music and fancy dress, and at night there are parties in bars and venues. In 2026 the parade was moved from Saturday 14 to Sunday 15 February because of a wind warning: in winter, outdoor events depend on the weather.
- Easter: marks the start. More bars and restaurants open, and the first pre-season parties start being announced.
Gigs, DJs in bars and residents' parties
The best winter night often isn't on a big poster. It's in:
- Live music: jazz, flamenco, rock, reggae and singer-songwriters in bars in Ibiza Town, Santa Eulalia and the villages. Town councils also programme concerts in theatres and cultural centres, such as Can Ventosa in Ibiza Town or the Teatro España in Santa Eulalia.
- Resident DJs: many DJs who play the big clubs in summer do winter sets in bars and restaurants, sometimes in the afternoon.
- Tardeo: a late lunch that stretches into the evening with music is very much a winter thing, especially on sunny Sundays.
- Private and community parties: birthdays at fincas, association parties, themed dinners. You get in by knowing people, and in winter meeting people is easier than in August.
If you're arriving solo or with just a few friends, join a plan before you go looking for a party: a dinner, a walk or a games afternoon gives you people to go out with later. We explain how in how to meet people in Ibiza.
How to find out what's on each week
In winter, information moves fast and through small channels. What works:
- The Ibiza Connects calendar, where the week's parties and plans are posted. It's in the app calendar and the club and party line-up grid.
- Each venue's social media: a bar may announce its Saturday DJ on Thursday afternoon.
- Town council listings, especially at Christmas, Carnival and patron saint fiestas. Programmes come out a few weeks ahead.
- Local media, which publish weekend and New Year listings.
- Ask at the bar. In winter, the bartender knows where the party is that night.
Be wary of "clubs open in winter" lists on websites that don't show a date: they're usually from previous years.
Getting home in winter: fewer buses and fewer taxis
This is what changes most. In summer, at six in the morning, there's a disco bus and a line of taxis. In winter, there isn't.
- Disco bus: not running. The D routes operate from June to September, and in October only on closing nights.
- Night buses (N routes): the only buses in the early hours in low season. They run at weekends and on the night before each public holiday, roughly from eleven until four. They link Ibiza Town with San Antonio, Sant Josep, Santa Eulalia and Playa d'en Bossa. Exact times change: check the operator's website or our guide to Ibiza bus routes.
- Taxi: far fewer than in summer, and after midnight in the villages there may be none free. Book your ride home by phone or app before going out, especially on New Year's Eve. More in Ibiza taxis.
- Ride sharing: if someone's heading your way, sharing the journey is the most practical option. Look for one in the app's ride sharing section.
- Driving: not if you've been drinking. On nights such as New Year's Eve or Carnival there are usually drink-driving checks on the main roads.
| Situation | Best way home |
|---|---|
| Going out in Ibiza Town and staying in Ibiza Town | On foot |
| Staying in San Antonio or Santa Eulalia, on a Friday or Saturday | N night bus (check the last departure) or a pre-booked taxi |
| Staying inland (Santa Gertrudis, Sant Joan, Sant Carles) | Pre-booked taxi or ride share |
| New Year's Eve | Taxi booked days ahead, or stay somewhere nearby |
Common mistakes going out in Ibiza in winter
- Coming in November for a particular club without checking it's open that night.
- Trusting old lists. Winter venues change from year to year.
- Staying in Playa d'en Bossa or on San Antonio bay to go out: in winter they're shut.
- Going out with no plan for getting home. With no disco bus and few taxis, you sort it out beforehand.
- Going out too early. Even with fewer people, dinner is late and bars fill up after midnight.
- Ignoring the weather. Outdoor Christmas and Carnival events are postponed for rain or wind.

Frequently asked questions
Are there clubs open in Ibiza in winter?
A few, and not every night. The big clubs close between mid-October and late April, and only some open on special dates such as New Year's Eve. What does run are DJ bars, small venues with weekend parties and one-off events. Always check that week's programme before you go.
Where do people go out in Ibiza in November?
Mainly in Ibiza Town, in the bars of the Marina, the port and the centre, busiest on Fridays and Saturdays. At weekends there are parties at Akasha, the Las Dalias venue, and more around Halloween and the December long weekend. Playa d'en Bossa and San Antonio bay are practically closed.
Is there a party in Ibiza on New Year's Eve?
Yes, it's winter's big night. In 2025 there was a free party on the Vara de Rey promenade with the midnight chimes, grapes and party favours, municipal parties in Santa Eulalia and a ticketed party at Pacha. Programmes are announced in November or December. Book dinner and your ride home early.
Is there a disco bus in Ibiza in winter?
No. The disco bus runs from June to September, and in October only on some closing nights. In winter there are the N night buses, running on Fridays, Saturdays and the night before each public holiday, roughly from eleven at night to four in the morning. Other nights, it's a pre-booked taxi or a ride share.
How do I find out what parties are on in Ibiza this week?
Check the party and plans calendar in the Ibiza Connects app, the social media of bars and venues, and the listings from town councils and local media. In winter many venues announce their programme only a few days ahead, so it's best to look on the Thursday or Friday itself.
